In these days all VPN providers provide applications to people using iOS and Android phones. However, there are still people who want to avoid using these applications as they often use a lot of memory, so they want to manually setup the VPN connection instead. But, how can you setup a VPN on your Android manually?
Setup a VPN on Android phone
To setup a VPN on an Android phone using Android 4.x system, you first need to open Settings and then the VPN option. Once there you press the “+” in the upper right corner to add a new VPN connection.
Here give the VPN connection a name, choose the type of connection (VPN protocol) you would like to use. Then comes the most important part, where you type the server address. This is the IP address of the server, and this you will need to be given by the VPN provider you are using. They all have lists providing such information, so let us say that you want to get an Italian IP address and you are using PureVPN as your provider. You then need to find the exact IP address of the PureVPN server in Italy that you want to connect to, and then you type that address into the “Server address” field.
Once this is done you save the settings and click the name of the connection now added to the Settings – VPN menu. Once you are there you will see a form where you need to add the Username and Password, which you will be given by your VPN provider (or which you picked yourself upon registration).
Enter your username and password, and you are ready to go!Once you have followed these steps you are ready to press the connect button, and hopefully everything should be working perfectly on the first try, and you are now able to use your VPN and surf safely, and with a new IP address.
