We all strive to get power, but in the end, respect might be more important than power.
As we watch powerful people on TV, we might get impressed and yearn to live our lives like them. But, if you ever live close to someone powerful, you will quickly understand, that more important than power is respect.
It might look shiny and fantastic at the outside, but often you will see powerful people fighting just as much in their daily lives as us (normal people). Often we have a glorified image of what such people are like, but these glorified images are quickly destroyed as we hear about drug abuse, divorces, and troubles in their personal lives.
But, do you want to know what is powerful? If you see someone with power, but at the same time see that their life is one of integrity, and after spending time with the person, you actually respect them way more than you did before meeting them.
I really hope I can be such a person myself, one that people will respect as they meet me, and as they see the values of my life… not by reading my blog, but by spending actual time with me as a person!
