Just had some Organo Gold Black Ice… was it good?

I just tasted the Organo Gold Iced Tea (Black Ice) for the first time, and I had great expectations to this product! I really enjoy the black, the red and the green tea from Organo Gold, so I hoped that the black iced tea would follow in the footsteps of these products.

But, it is worth knowing that the Iced Tea from Organo Gold is not like a tea filter, after all this is a product to be drunk cold and that is only to be mixed with cold water and maybe with some ice. Therefore the Organo Gold Iced Tea is more like an instant coffee, meaning that you receive a powder that you only need to mix with water, and then you are ready to go and drink at once!

Following those instructions I added the Black Ice powder to a 0,5l glass and mixed it with water and added ice. I stirred it all together and had a sip and I was surprised. For some reason this was a taste that somehow seemed to strong to me, and it was not at all good. I gave a sip to some friends dropping by as well, and none seemed to enjoy the drink very much. Since I have a box of Organo Gold Black Ice I will drink it all up, and maybe I will get used to the taste and start to enjoy it more, but at least so far I am not a member of the Organo Gold Black Ice fan club.

I later tried adding sugar and lemon to the drink, but that did not help me either!

It can be worth knowing that the Organo Gold Black Ice does not contain 30% Ganoderma Lucidum like the other tea products from Organo Gold, but this is following in the steps of the other instant products, meaning that you will only find 5% Ganoderma Lucidum in the Black Ice.

What is my recommendation therefore?

Instead of buying the Organo Gold Black Ice which is even more expensive than a box of tea, I would rather buy a box of Organo Gold Black Tea, take a filter and mix it with 1 liter of water. Then I would add some honey and put it in the fridge and leave it until it gets cold, and in an hour you will have nice and cold ice tea with 30% Ganderoma Lucidum. If you want to make it even cooler then you can add some slices of orange and maybe some lemon as well!
