I have heard people say that Christians are like everyone else, they just believe in God. Yes, we are like everyone else, but still we are different. God has called his blessing upon us and it lifts us higher.
Do not misunderstand me! We have the same value as everyone else, and we are not to look down on anyone. In fact we are to lift others up and encourage people, in the same way God has lifted us up.
As Joseph was taken captive in the book of Genesis the great leader of the nation was Pharaoh. Joseph was blessed by God, however his surroundings did not always smile at him. Facing all challenges and problems God still prospered him and turned him into the second hand of Pharaoh.
In Genesis 47 Joseph’s family came to join him in Egypt and Jacob, his father, visited Pharaoh. As Pharaoh and Jacob faced one another it is normal to think that Pharaoh, as the ruler of Egypt, would welcome and bless Jacob, but the opposite was true. Jacob was 120 years old and blessed by God, so as he met Pharaoh he blessed him.
Maybe you feel as a minority or fight with low self-esteem. How are you going to speak out baldly when you feel like that? On this inspirational Monday I encourage you to learn from the Bible. God has blessed you and he wants to bless you; and his blessing lifts you higher. You can know for sure that wherever you go, he comes with you. Whenever you speak, he is there backing you up. When you raise your rod, he divides the sea. As we walk in faith, miracles will happen. Just read the words from Psalm 23:6.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Speak out blessing upon your colleagues, speak out blessing upon your boss and speak out God’s blessing on your family – after all, God’s blessing lifts you higher!
